Mainstream fashion

I wonder why girls (well, girls most of the time) enjoy reading magazines for clothes or accessories. Magazines like Her World, Cleo, they must be making tons of money, having all sorts of advertisements and such a wide readership.

There's nothing really wrong with getting fashion tips from magazines. But, hasn't anyone realised the ridiculous prices of the stuff they promote? Okay, for guys, the stuff are like $1000 and up! How the hell would people be able to afford that?

Another point to note, when everyone reads the magazines, and they see whatever it is they like, and start buying and wearing, won't everyone sort of look the same? Different colours, different brands, yea. But SAME STYLE!!! How would you feel when you go out, you see people who look like you? Gosh, especially when you are the one who starts the fashion (okay, that's not me). Okay, I'm sure there are many ways to see this. Maybe you'll feel pleased that you're the trendsetter, or maybe you'll feel like you're no longer unique (that's me).

Still, this actually bags the question of whether there are enough people who take fashion tips from magazines. I guess not many really do, since the prices are so insane.

I don't want Nike anymore! I need cheap clothes!
