I thought it feels bad to be sick. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Being sick makes one feel tortured, literally.
Got up at 4.30am this morning feeling terrible. My back was aching badly as I went to get a thermometer. Instantly, I knew I was sick even without the need for the thermometer. Nonetheless, I took my temperature. It showed 37.3 degrees I believe. That wasn't too bad. But I was unable to get back to sleep due to my aching back. At about 5am, I took my temperature again and this time it showed 37.7 degrees. Still not that bad. But I lay awake in bed all the way till 6.20am when my mummy got up and I told her I was sick. She asked me to go back to bed and to get up at 8am to see a doctor. Another 1 and a half hours lying awake, feeling tortured. At 8am, as I wanted to go and see the doctor, my dad was taking his time getting ready. We only left house at about 9am.
The clinic (Raffles Medical Group) was pretty crowded. And I had to wait about 1 hr for the doctor to see me. Terrible. It was freezing too. When it was my turn to see the doctor, my fever had subsided, possibly due to the air con in the clinic. However, he warned me to watch out for the symptoms of dengue fever (rashes, sustained high fever) as it was uncommon for fever to be unaccompanied by other symptoms.
I got home and took my medicine, and went immediately to bed. The pain in my back had subsided a little due to the paracetamol and I was able to have undisturbed sleep for about 3 hrs. Got up for lunch with no more fever. But at about 4pm, my fever acted up again and this time the highest it had gone was 38.5 degrees!! Oh no.
Well anyway, it's now about 38.1 degrees, still high but I'm not feeling that hot anyway. Don't really feel like blogging. Feeling weak all over. Hope I get well soon.
Anyway, the thing I wish for most now would be a message from Serine wishing me well. With that, I will definitely get well instantly I think. Haha. No chance.
